Should you combine the bathroom and toilet?

Due to Traditional Influences

Although our country’s economy has developed in recent years, traditional values are still preserved. One such tradition is the preference for separating the toilet from other living spaces.

In the past, toilets were often built away from the main house, sometimes placed in a quiet corner of the garden or at the end of a hallway. Thanks to this layout, these areas usually had windows, natural light, and ventilation, keeping the space airy and fresh. It also created a quiet and private atmosphere, minimizing disruption to the daily lives of other family members.

Ensuring Hygiene

Placing the toilet outdoors used to ensure better cleanliness and ventilation, but it also posed inconvenience during winter or at night. As living spaces become smaller, many people still prefer to separate the toilet from the bathroom, though they now place it closer to the living areas for practicality.

Mr. Khac Ninh believes that the toilet accumulates filth, while the bathroom is meant for cleansing the body. That’s why he finds it uncomfortable when people combine both areas, even in spacious homes.
